Unusual weekend break when we follow the words of Jesus to look at the birds. It involves quiet Christian worship, reflection and guided birdwatching walks which are ideal for complete beginners and keen birdwatchers alike. Each retreat has a theme examining birds of the Bible. On this October retreat we focus on eagles in the Bible - one of the 4 kinds of birds most featured in scripture.
Our time will be spent on and around Holy Island which hosts a wide variety of waders, duck and geese. October can be the best month on the island for migration when thousands of different birds from Scandinavia make landfall after their perilous journeys across the North Sea.
These retreats are designed both for Christians and for people sympathetic to the Christian faith who wish to learn more about birds in a place internationally famous for its birdlife and its Celtic Christian heritage.
PRICE: The OCTOBER retreat is for 2 nights from Friday 13th to Sunday 15th October. £165 per person + B&B accommodation at the Open Gate
